Baby Shower
No it's not showering babies, nor did anyone smell cleaner afterwards, but we all had a great time! Thanks to Besty, Rebekah, Kelley, Adrienne, Tara, Kim, and Leah for a wonderful shower. And the answer to that age old question is 12 - It took 12 squares of toilet paper to go around my pregnant belly two weeks ago.

Wish us luck. Hopefully, our next blog will have newborn photos - of our newborn, not a stranger's -that would be weird.

We're Growing Again!
Three weeks ago, we added Samson "Sam" Hall to the family. Curiousity may have killed the cat, but luckily it did not kill Sam. Sam apparently found some sort of toxin that was good eat'n. When he arrived at the vet, they were sure he would not make it and that, if he did make it, he would be severely brain damaged. Sam beat the odds and survived to tell the tail without any problems. Unfortunately, his owners could not cover his ongoing expenses, so he was turned over to the vet's orphanage. A neighbor told us about Sam, and the rest is history. Sam is a one year old Pug puppy, whose current focus is reminding us what it is like to have a puppy again. So far, Lucy is eagerly awaiting the day we will send him back.
St. Patrick's Day, we welcomed our nephew to the world. Gavin Michael Hood was born to Amy Hall and Grant Hood in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. Pictures to - hopefully - be posted soon.
Also, we are expecting. September 7th, "Crawfish" Hall is expected to join the world. For those of you horrified by the name Crawfish, take heart, the moniker will only last until birth when we find out the baby's gender and give the baby one of the names we have decided not to share. So that's the scoop, we have a new Pug, we have a new nephew, we are having a baby, and we are not giving anyone the satisfaction of the baby's gender or name. I know, we are real party poopers. :)

In Loving Memory

Slick Hall
January 1991 - December 31, 2007
January 1991 - December 31, 2007
New Year's Eve, we said "Goodbye" to our dear family member, Slick. We adopted Slick in July of 2006 at the age of 15 1/2 years old. He was an awesome dog who knew how to win friends and influence people. Slick taught all of us that just because someone is old doesn't mean they have lost their value. He enriched our lives with his laid back attitude, sweet spirit, and fun antics. Slick will be well remembered by those he vacationed with this past summer - his snores in his chair were the perfect addtion to those rainy afternoons when we played board games! Lucy has lost a daytime napping partner, and the vet has lost a 25lb medical miracle. Slick is a testament that anyone's heart can grow a little bigger and a little softer with the addition of an adopted pet. In Slick's memory, we ask that you consider adopting a slightly older dog next time you add a furry family member. They are past expensive initial shots, are usually house-trained already, have grown past the puppy chewing stage, and - most importantly - have lots of love to give.
~Christy, Billy, & Lucy
P.S. A BIG thanks to CityVet Uptown (Dallas) for all of your support, love, and kind care of Slick. Dr. Thompson and staff went WAY above and beyond for Slick.
